Cereal Box Project.
For this assignment, we were assigned to create packaging for the concept cereal box, and then we were to create a magazine ad for said box. Here is everything I made for the project and my Concepts
The brand I chose for this project was Honey Nut Cheerios. People like Honey Nut Cheerios, The cereal has been around for almost 50 years, and signs indicate it will continue to be around. People love the taste, the crunch and the effect it gives the milk when finished.

After the ideas had finished "Rolling around at the speed of sound" in my head. I decided to get to work on my 10 Concepts Thumbnails for the cereal packaging and 1 for the Magazine Ad. I decided a good idea for the front of the package was to get both familiar mascots of Honey Nut Cheerios and Sonic the Hedgehog to pose up with each other, almost in an attempt to show that they are friends. Who knows if they are really friends? Does Sonic even know any other bees besides Charmy Bee? Does Sonic even really eat Honey Nut Cheerios? Who would know!

After looking at all my work so far, I decided it was time to turn concept into reality. Starting with the magazine ad. I made use of the similar shape that Sonic rings have and merged that concept with the Cheerio. By good use of colour effects and blend layers, I made the Cheerio a solid gold related colour with a bright outer glow to resemble a Sonic ring. The P&G of Sonic's hand originates from a trailer from Sonic Unleashed. As a die-hard Sonic fan, I remembered Sonic had made a similar hand motion when holding a ring in that trailer and made use of it. I also went about and found the Sonic font online, to tie the magazine ads visuals together

And lastly, we have our final product, the cereal box packaging itself. The packaging was more or less made to reflect Sonic's hip and cool vibes; a grunge-ish feeling was 100% the idea with a cool & friendly tone to boot. Remember the target audience for this project is mostly kids, young people and gamers. When they look at this box/packaging, I want them to almost kind of be enamoured and have a solid look at the box and for kids to almost kind of point out and go to their parents just to say “Oh look, it's Sonic the Hedgehog!”
